The Masindi Grade one Magistrates court has on Friday ordered Masindi LC5 Chairman Cosmas Byaruhanga to hence force open the office of the Chief Administrative officer which has been under lock for close to one month with immediate effect .
A court order was issued on 4th Oct Friday morning at Masindi grade one court and signed by Grade one Magistrate Biwaga Selsa and also ordered PS Ministry of local Government to intervene and resolves the difference between the CAO and the district council for continuity of operations and to avoid the disruption of government programs.
The grade one magistrate however did not award costs on both sides.
The CAO rushed to court after district council headed by LC5 chairman locked his officer on 9th September 2019. Since then several meeting have been held with a view of having the office opened in vain.
Masindi district local government which was locked by the district council vide minute no.279/09/COU/ MDLG dated September ,6 2019 under the supervision of lc5 chairperson on September 9,2019 be immediately opened.
The district council also resolved that CAO must be transferred from the district
accusing him of failure to implement council resolutions among other accusations which he vehemently denied.
