Police in Kagadi are hunting for the parents of the yet to be identified baby girl dumped near the home of the Vice chairman of Mugalike in Kitema Parish Kagadi district.
Charles Byaruhanga the Vice Chairman LCI Mugalike Village says that he found the baby dumped in the compound as he was going to do the weeding of his beans and he immediately informed police to intervene.
Charles says he has visited many offices to help the child and how best they can help him to solve the issue since no one identified the baby neither her parents.
Matia Birimunda the Defense Mugalike village says that he received a phone call that people had dumped a baby girl near the home of the vice chairman and he immediately intervened to help the child.
Stephen Banakora Kiyaga the district probation officer says that he received a baby presumed to be 3-4 months and he called a registered home to care for the baby as they look for the parents after he procured a temporarly care order from court.
Stephen says that since he assumed office, this is the second crime of child dumping as one was dumped in Kabamba and this was who was found in dumped in Mugalike.
Onek Ojar Romeo the Kagadi District Police Commander says that the baby girl is expected to be 3-4 months old and that police has already opened up a file for the case and that the baby is being kept at Blessed the Children Ministries a registered babies home in Kagadi District.
He says that police is hunting for the parents of the baby.
Onek advised parents to desist from abandoning children since they belong to the government and asked anyone with information of the parents should report to police.
