Buliisa district fisheries officer Philip Ngongaha recorded a statement at Masindi police station on sunday in regard to the assaulting of an eight year of girl last week.
Ngongaha buttered the girl that was vending maize after her hand rubbed his car that he had been parked along Market Streetclaiming she had scratched it. He was later rescued from the mob that wanted to beat him by police officers who were enforcing the night curfew after they dispersed the mob and took him together with the girl away.
Ngongaha was on sunday summoned by the officer in charge family and child protection unit at Masindi police station Agnes Okidi and recorded a statement before being released on police bond.
The girl’s relatives also recorded statements on the matter.
The Officer in Charge Masindi police station Agrey Kyesimiire confirmed that Ngongaha recorded the statement at police and that the matter is being handled by the office of family and child protection unit.
Kyesimire revealed that Ngongaha will be taken to court to answer charges that will be preferred against him once investigationsare complete.
