Ismail Kisembo, Abdullah Businge, Najjib Kabagambe all residents of Kiduru cell, Bigando ward Kigulya Division in Masindi Municipality have been accused of failing the widening of community access road in the same area.
According to Alfred Mujumbi the area chairperson, Masindi district had allocated money through NUSAF to construct the road but they were affected by the above trio. This forced concerned residents on Saturday to do communal work in order to have access the road.
Speaking to our reporter at the site, Salim Kyamwali a resident of the same area said that after the above trio affected work, they decided to work on the road and they are ready to face any one who will fail them.
According to one resident who chose anonymity, the above three people should not access the road because they are failing development in the area. “We have decided to work on the road and those affecting the progress of the work should not access the road” She adds.
Those affecting development in the area let them go and report and see whether the whole village will be arrested because of doing charity work, we shall not allow them to access the road, said Asiimwe a councillor representing Bigando Ward to the Municipality.
When we contacted Najjjb Kabagambe on a phone call, he said that NUSAF agreed to compensate him and they can’t access his land unless he is compensated. Abdulah Businge declined to comment on the matter. In an effort to get a comment from Ismail Kisembo, this came futile as he couldn’t respond to our phone calls.
Mugisa William the NUSAF Coordinator told our reporter that they sat for the meeting and agreed to work on the road once matters is settled. They have worked not was part of NUSAF but individual.
